This young New York-based artist and fashion designer — launched her collection ‘azaadi’ inspired by the Pakistani woman to reveal the struggles and violence endured by the Pakistani women in this era. She was raised in Pakistan and, through the development of her narrative, in her work she questions the relationship between the place she is from and who she is. The casts of her own body both combine garment with sculpture and they highlight the strength of the Pakistani women who weren’t afraid to fight to stand up and live on their own terms.
